tonight's indie punk show was alright. me, kevin, and danny ended up walking all the way pass the bridge and cal train station to get to cafe frascati. they just so happened to have open mic night going on, so we supported them for awhile. i ordered iced black coffee and a vegetarian sandwich, which was pretty decent. danny and kevin helped me finish half of it. we listened to some reggae/rock and then left. the academy of sciences was super fascinating, and what are the chances that i ran into abby, laura, and kelly (friends from long beach, but friends from norcal originally). it was really awesome. for lunch at the academy of sciences cafe, i just ordered a vegetarian taco, vegetarian bun, sea salt and vinegar chips (not my taste, i was looking for bland plain chips), and a nectarine. i enjoyed reading about the galapagos island animals and the different climate changes that revolved the surrounding areas of the animals. there was even a whole display of the hominin family tree. everything was a refresh in some way. my brother just came back from his graveyard shift work, and he asked if i wanted a new bike. i just shook my head yes. and he said if you can find one, i'll buy it for you. and i said anything? he said yeah, just keep it under 300. wow he is being quite generous. we haven't spoken since i came back from long beach to be honest. or actually we haven't ever spoken much. i just realized his birthday is in 7 days, and if anything, i should be the one getting him a gift. but i get him a gift every year, so this year should be no exception. if i had dinner today, or in-between-snacks, maybe i'd stop munching on this bag of kettle corn. who put it there anyway? who bought it?
