hello, i'm in the process of doing all things at once. or otherwise, known as multitasking in the summertime. today i woke up early but late, meaning the intended time of waking up was 6 am, but i slept through and luckily (so lucky) my body woke up by itself again at 7 am. then i did all things that rushed people do in the early morning: hurriedly and brushed my 32 teeth, rinsed out, ran out to the kitchen, grabbed to-go cereal or whatever i was able to find, grabbed keys, grabbed bag, (and yoga mat in my case), and dashed out the door to the car. i put my vampire weekend cd on and before i knew it, i was at school. i thought i had left my pass at home, but nope, i carried the right bag, and the right bag contained the summer school parking pass. :-)
i power walked to yoga, and it seemed like i had not been rushing at all when i entered the studio. in fact, i had a little less than 10 minutes to stretch before class started, which was a major score and accomplishment for the first day of the week. today we did sun salutations for 50 minutes and i was drained. so drained. after yoga, i drove to home depot to pick out the main paint for my room, and i went with white jasmine (which is basically white, but with a hint of really bright settled light green if you look into it or point bright hollywood lights to it). after, i drove home, and went out the door again to run up sierra hill. i did my usual two miles and came back to shower and get ready. i made a quick lunch, with the wheat tortilla wrap, boca vegan burger, ready-to-eat mixed greens, and baby tomatoes. i stuffed some slices of strawberries in it to make it taste more fresh. i really liked it.
then before i knew it again, i had to get back to school for my physical anthropology class. we learned to classify the skeleton parts and brainstormed on how we would make the fossil table for useful purposes for the exam wednesday. before driving home, i read pieces of you by tablo in the car for 20 mnutes.
then i came home, ate dinner (my mom's been into chana masala lately, so we've been having different forms of that each day), helped do laundry, then went straight to my paint-fume-filled-room to help my dad with painting in my room. today we did the primer layer. tomorrow he's going to help me do the majority of the main paint. see, my dad really likes painting and usually he doesn't allow too many people to help because he's a perfectionist. he doesn't need to admit it because he shows it through his words, actions, and emotions. when i was little, i wasn't allowed to touch the paintbrush. the gold awards go to me at last, he recently let me pick up the brushes and rolls. hallelujah.
well, i picked up the brush and did touch-ups for him here and there and all of that took away about two hours. i just showered again, and now i'm about to get ready to do my human nutrition homework, read the chapters, and try to bake banana walnut bread. perfect. i have more than five riped bananas and this recipe does not ask for vanilla extract, because i totally ran out.
happy monday to me, to you, and to everyone else.
tonight i'm sleeping in the living room.
