lazy tuesday

today i watched the sky turn dark from my window and took a few decent naps here and there. i also made a scrapbooked bookmark, worked on creating an august journal out of postcards i picked up from chinatown in san francisco yesterday and some random scraps i found in the craftbox, tried stamping some letters onto a metal spoon with my letter and number press set, played some morning tracks for my own yoga practice, talked to my mother about thoughts and plans that i have for the upcoming fall semester, read a lot of pages of norwegian wood, and watched parts of hey arnold. i enjoyed all the quiet and self-reflective time i got today. i've missed spending quality time alone in a quiet house. haven't gotten much of that lately. yesterday ashley visited from irvine and i was just so happy to see her. we went to san francisco together and visited union square and chinatown. we spent the majority of our time in chinatown browsing through all the buddha figurines, stickers, i love san francisco tees, outerwear, paper lanterns, patterned fabric, rainbow scarves, postcards, and all. in chinatown, there are two spectacular free tea tasting places. though i've known their existence ever since i was a child, i never actually went in until yesterday when i was with ashley. we both really loved the blue tea because it relaxed our minds and gave a pretty sweet after taste and that kind of after taste is kind of rare to find in other teas. rare as in that one limited edition pokemon card in one of the many packs that you purchase. in the morning we tried bio which replaced crepe o chocolat now supposedly, and i picked out a vegan chocolate-covered grapefruit along with a cup of vegan spicy chai. ashley got some berry drink. bio is this cute organic vegan-friendly cafe located right next to barney's on o'farrell street. super close of a walk from powell street. next time, i'd love to try the vegan salad and soup of the day. in the middle of the day, we also got a quick snack from this sushi restaurant. i was hesitant at first because everything was literally looking and smelling fishy from the moment i walked in to the moment i sat down, but i eventually ordered a plain and satisfying 6-piece asparagus roll. it ended up being perfect for a quick and clean bite. for dinner, we walked back to the westfield mall and i went to bristol farms and scooped up some grilled veggies, kale, beans, and more salad from the take-out section. ashley got some delicious thai food. after i dropped her home,  i went home exhausted. my eyes had irritated me the entire day and so i just went straight to my bed and ended up talking to juan about life on the phone for an hour.
