coconut oolong tea and macaroons

march 19, 2012

snippets of monday night

east village area in downtown long beach

john and i took the bus and found some really neat crafty thrift stores and a big brick wall to take random pictures around.

we bought some art supplies to make our own amateur zines

then we found berlin by portfolio coffeehouse nearby and grabbed a light dinner. i ordered breakfast veggie burritos for dinner and john ordered some curry plate.

the guy who worked there was super friendly. me, john, and him watched bits of the recorded world of color show on video together on my laptop.

connected to the berlin coffeehouse on one end is a two-story homey library for comfy sofas to sit down and read, and on the other end is a record/cd/dvd store. i picked up some random band cds and all of them were great! each cd was about $1.82. definitely worth your surprise bag and budget.

later in the night, we walked around the corner to the greenhouse cafe now known as our new favorite coffee hangout / study spot. they have the most amazing coconut oolong tea! we had a small conversation with the barista and let me tell you, she knows her stuff.

the staff is great and there is a loft in the two-story coffeehouse. so dreamy.. seriously.
