tonight out of the blue, i decided to listen to the moving soundtrack from the meryl streep movie out of africa, and now i can't stop the replay button because this incredible, incredible score has gotten me floating on top of some seriously fluffed up clouds. john barry is one of the most beautiful conductors and composers of film music. i wonder if it's a coincidence that most noteworthy film score directors share the same name of john. i mean, there are my three personal favorites at least: john barry, john powell, and john williams. nonetheless, i honestly and sincerely find talented musicians as some of the most amusing and inspiring people on earth. there's nothing better than listening to dynamical strings and winds converge. with all the different sounds that each instrument creates, there's so much emotion and expression that it's hard not to remind us, or myself, of the high and low ends in life, the beauty in our surroundings, and who we are as individuals in a single strong instrumental piece. the richness of a full orchestra absolutely melts my heart and sinks into deep concentration for music appreciation. i apologize for being so darn sappy; i can't help it when it comes to moving pieces. perhaps enduring 14 years of my still-beginners-level-musical-experience continually gives me the opportunity to explore the overall performances of timeless music. it's one of those things where you really just need to close your eyes for a second, listen deeply, and somehow feel it within yourself entirely. when it hits that one spot, even if just for a split second, then that's when you know that that's what you've been missing out on, in that very moment; then suddenly, you feel infinite.
give it a listen.
goodnight.
