I spent the day with Vu in Downtown San Jose checking out the art exhibits I've been waiting to see at the main San Jose museum for quite some time. Whenever I'm in Downtown San Jose, I somehow feel like I'm at home again just because I feel so familiar with the surroundings from all the times I wandered off into the neighborhood in circles by myself or with a good friend. I love the tranquil ambiance. But somehow walking down street after street, time after time, always brings me to new minute discoveries each time; that's what gets me more worked up during my visits. I love spending time with a good friend there who's willing to walk around with me like a blind man towards whatever direction our feet leads us. I just enjoy settled and compatible company in general. Today the two of us stumbled upon a small vegan house called The Good Karma that served delicious food. We asked for mashed potatoes and pra-ram tofu. Our plates were served quickly with brown rice on the side. The water came from a glass bottle that seemed like something that would come out of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. So rad. This place is definitely worth the stop-by, and I think someone like my mom would also be head over heels at first sight for their food and decor. Hmm, like mother, like daughter.
We also went to the King Library and I found the one book that I've wanted to check out for half the year by Miranda July. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever decided to maybe return it, find it, order a new copy, or whatsoever, because it is mine to read for the rest of the night.
Extra side note: Dessert at Bijan's was fulfilling as usual. I dream about hazelnut-flavored things day and night. No complaints.
Today was a fantastic day.
