It certainly feels as though time has not passed since I have gotten here. The truth is, I have been on an adventure everyday and fulfilling at least more than one unexpected thing on my invisible bucket-list religiously on a certain routine each day. If you really stop to think for just a second, you are indeed doing something new everyday. It could be that one extra movement that you probably did not do the day before, or that one word that you said to someone that you probably would have never said, or that one spontaneous adventure that you decide to go on on the spur of the moment on a Sunday night.. (the spontaneous adventure on a Sunday night = the trip to the Marketplace theater with John tonight). We went to see 50/50 which features our favorite Joseph Gordon Levitt. That's correct... yet another rad moving movie with bits of humorous scenes in the least expected moments. Go JGL!
It stopped raining this weekend in Long Beach. Right when I emailed my mother to maybe email my old red coffee mug and my green rain boots over here, the weather decides to wipe its tears and become mildly warm once again. What are the odds? Actually no, for Southern California weather, I should not be surprised at all. But to be honest, I believe I am gradually adapting to Southern California weather day by day. Hmm, props to me for now.
Speaking of what the odds are, I went camping this weekend with a few of my suitemates at Crystal Cove State Park, and this huge group of boy scouts comes late at night to the same spot we set up all of our backpacks, only to tell us that they had booked the site long ago and we should pack our belongings and hike another half mile up to reset everything. Despite all the fuss they caused, all of us ended sharing the camp sites and eventually walked over the hassle. In the tent, the seven of us had a blast sharing personal stories, cracking jokes, and switching positions to find our own comfortable spots in a four people tent. I honestly have not gone camping since the third grade. Though we were not allowed to have an ideal campfire this weekend, the R.A.s were still able to grill some hot dogs and hamburger patties for us, on the stoves they were not supposed to bring! After camping, I also got to spend time at Seal Beach for the first time. The sound of the waves pushing onto the shore is just something that I cannot get in less than fifteen minutes of a drive back home. I am persistently starting to explore Long Beach with great interest more and more each day. Life has certainly been somewhat on-track.
October is definitely going to be filled with an excessive load of soon-to-come fun festivities! I cannot wait!
I was also thinking about the movie Garden State today for some reason. I just wanted to share this song once more.
