today, peter and i had a hard time deciding where to eat for lunch, even though we decided to try colosseum new york pizza in the first place. so, we ended up going to the pizza place and it turned out that their pizzas really did live up to what everyone has been praising about from time to time. i'd say it's one of those pizza places where the outside may look just like another pizza place every few blocks down, but when you step inside, the unique interior is the real gem to the eye. there were lots of new york building pictures framed, yankees pride, collages of posters, etc, and all that just kind of gave me the feel of new york's ambiance-with the rushing of cars, busy streets, and excitement in the room. and now we know, my vegetarian slice was delicious and peter seemed to enjoy his all meat slice. peter gestured his arms into the shape of how a tyrannosaurus would act and tried to eat his all meat slice with big bites. he said i was just an herbivore, because there was no meat on my slice, but hey, i enjoyed and embraced that slice dearly.
we even had an interesting small chat with the guy who ran the place! he was telling us how the place has been there for over a year, and they just started to renovate and refurnish the place to make it look more polished and cleaned up. the guy saw me snapping nonstop photos of the place and he asked me what it was for, and i told him how i'm not the most avid yelper out there, but i enjoy sharing my thoughts with others on yelp at times and how i'd like to write a review for fun, about his place. hence, explains the happy photograph of the man beneath this paragraph. good service = jolly customers like me and peter! we actually ended up getting our pizza slices for free! i insisted on paying, but he just said, "we like people who yelp. so you snap the photos, we give you guys the pizza. when we say it's on the house, it's final." so there we had it, unexpected free and yummy slices of new york pizza on the house.
after having pizza at colosseum, we walked over to the market and grabbed some semi-cold grass jelly drinks. well, it was 'semi' because the drinks weren't cold when we first grabbed them off the carton; they were just sitting there underneath the a/c, waiting to be picked up. so we stuck them in the fridge behind these popsicle boxes and walked around the market for 20 minutes until we took them out of the fridge and purchased them. then we stopped in front of somebody's house in my neighborhood, and sat under the shade sipping on our cold grass jelly drinks, reminiscing the good times and enjoying yet another one of our summer youthful days.
