a day in japantown with a good pal who also enjoys bittersweet iced coffee, small bites, boardgames, cultural tastings, and art exhibits as much as I do, sure makes summertime a lot more adventurous, when I know that we would both likely be willing to take audacious risks every time we make a sharp turn around the corner. I'm really glad vu and i decided to make our stop in japantown today, because it felt like a tiny getaway, within this amiable community that had laid there timelessly before our eager eyes for countless years. every step we took just equated to another piece of a new summer adventure. and... i'd say the warm weather had been staying pretty consistent with the lukewarm touch on my skin for the past few weeks since school ended, but with the addition of heavy buckets of pouring raindrops here and there, every now and then-like this late afternoon for example. luckily, there were no thunder t-storms like yahoo predicted, so by the time vu and i came out of the art gallery in downtown, we didn't get struck by thunder; we got struck by serious heartaches, seeing a pool of water drowning our poor babies' wheels. before hopping on the rail back home, looking around, it was as though mother nature gave us all a long soaking wet shower together, but with clothes on. ah well, today i could definitely say my name is jane and i officially made it rain. or... not. but i wish i could make it rain; i indeed enjoy the smell of the crisp air after a long shower of pouring rain. (seattle, marry me already).
