mean girls

i think i am very certain that today i will not wear my contact lens to school. i pulled an all-nighter only to write an essay about mean girls (along with trying to do an entire research paper about genetically modified foods side by side.) don't laugh, this is a serious matter. the topic i selected this week regarded to different ethnic, cultural, racial, and national backgrounds, along with analyzing how stereotypes work in America and how the U.S. uses media to portray diversity. because i've been quoting so many lengthy lines from the film, i figured why not take something i know to the next level? so i took specific scenes of the movie apart, piece by piece to analyze.

the best quote to use was of course this:

"You got your freshmen, ROTC guys, preps, J.V. jocks, Asian nerds, cool Asians, varsity jocks, unfriendly black hotties, girls who eat their feelings, girls who don’t eat anything, desperate wannabes, burnouts, sexually active band geeks, the greatest people you will ever meet, and the worst. Beware of plastics. "

 Perfect.

it has all the bits and pieces one needs to use for an initial attention-grabber in my opinon.

time... to work on my 7-8 page research paper. it doesn't sound bad, and of course it's not as bad as compared to a 15-page-one, but i must get started pronto. i have about four hours and a half before the first class and then about four more hours in between before the actual class to turn this assignment in. i'm ready with my organic jasmine green tea next to me and my fresh callis candle burning. but i really just want to start shooting with my lomokino movie maker, write more letters, drink more hot tea, continue to wish for cold rainy gloomy melancholy weather, collect antiques, read old children's books, get more envelopes and better pens, and maybe even frolick in the grass than do my research paper. all of the above. peace.
