watch food, inc.
yesterday, i went to a different place to study for each chapter, leaving me in a total of three places: panera bread, peet's, and my elementary school outdoor lunch area. i studied from 8 am-maybe around 5 pm with small breaks in between, sneaking in a few pages of norwegian wood and a few minutes at goodwill for personal rewards here and there. my favorite place was staying at the lunch area at my elementary school. when you're little, the lunch tables seem countless and the playgrounds seem larger than they really are; when you're older you see how small everything actually is and you either learn to appreciate what's left or be indifferent. i personally enjoy the tranquil feeling and listening to the creaking of the swings. i remembered checking in with jill, the yard duty, every single day after lunch before i could play with the others. then that one time i got benched for some reason, and everyone made a big deal out of it because i was jane, and i was "never supposed to get in trouble." i probably didn't mean to, because to this day, i am still afraid of crossing lines and getting in trouble with teachers. but friends, trouble follows oftentimes. it's not entirely a bad thing. today i studied about five minutes or less compared to yesterday. i'm just exhausted. i went to togo's and met the staff while waiting for my viva veggie wrap with no cheese and no dressing. i guess it was because all the businessmen who ordered or were still in line were too busy scrolling pages on their iphones to look up. i figured, why not make a conversation.
