theme park and summer heat baking

i woke up this morning and felt like going to great america.

actually that was vincent's wake-up thought. my first wake-up crave wasn't a theme park, but to hop on the lightrail with my bike to go study at starbucks or do something otherwise (that's a common every-day crave, actually.) but talk about spontaneity, i ended up picking up vincent and we went to great america. we even purchased our season passes! sugarsweettt. after about three rides, we decided to exit the park, and then we went to get lunch at loving hut, an all vegan cuisine in the milpitas area! double sugarsweet. finally got to try it after reading yelp reviews and wondering where in the world it is. the other day me and emilio went to the wrong hut (gourmet hut) which is located on the same strip as loving hut, so i was still hoping to try loving hut as soon as possible since then. my first time check-in there was a pretty decent meal. a plus for them is that they sell tofutti cream cheese, earth balance desserts, and tofurky there! cool.

after, we went to michael's and i picked up tons of acrylic paint bottles, mason jars, glass paint, craft paper, and more to work on painting and other crafty thingies that i want to get started on this summer. we were about to go hiking at alum rock on the way back, but then the scorching heat hit me again through the ac as i placed my left palm on the window at a stop to feel the weather from outside. so i ended up dropping by safeway to pick up a new jar of the kind of peanut butter i liked and decided to do baking instead. this time, instead of the no-stir white chocolate dreams, i picked up dark chocolate dreams. if you have a sweet tooth like me, then these jars are your bestestestest friends in the whole wide world. so we went back to my house and i baked whole wheat peanut butter cookies and i sprinkled some ground cinnamon in the mix and added some crushed almonds as well. ( i had a peanut butter cookie party in my mouth. i was about to drop some off calvin, but he wasn't home, so i ended up dropping them off in emilio's mailbox instead.) i also happened to bake some flourless oatmeal raisin cookies. all recipes came from chocolate-covered katie as usual.

:-) she is the goddess of healthy baking.

after dropping vincent home, i came back and took my dad to a wedding. then at home again, i baked again (for calvin in hopes of him being home tomorrow) and watched another episode of don't trust the b in apt 23. emilio recommended the slightly new abc show last week during class, and i checked it out. and let me just say, it is quite a scandalous show. after an episode, you'll put yourself in the whole "man, i don't want to stop, okay maybe one more episode, it's only about 20 minutes" mood.

heh, like this and them:

hah so great..
