clumsiness

It's that moment when you literally walk out of your car all prepared and ready to go, slam the door shut, and then realize, oh shoot, that was automatic close and I left my keys inside!  Then you have to go through troublesome phone calls and feel anxious simultaneously because that one thing you were getting all tidied up for is about to start and time is slipping-all because of your forgetfulness. Yeah that kind of moment is just a big downfall. Today I left my keys in my dorm room twice! Of course, I had to go to the office to get someone to swipe me in. The first time I left it inside, I literally started knocking on the outside door even though I knew no one was inside at that time-it was just a natural reaction, you know- like hello? is anyone inside? at all?

The second time I walked down the stairs to throw away trash. I even scored two baskets by throwing my two juiceboxes down to the recycle bin from upstairs. Being all joyous with my scores, I suddenly looked back and realized that I had forgotten my key upstairs. At that point, it meant that I couldn't get in from the outside door, which meant that I wouldn't be able to open the second outside door as well to get to the door of my room. So.... I went to sign in my name again. We're allowed three lockouts before they "press charges." But they let me slide this time because I made friends with them this morning. SCORE.

Then in the dining hall at lunch today, I totally dropped my plate of sweet honeydew melon that I was looking forward to eat because I was holding my philosophy book, cell phone, and keys, and somehow forgot that I was holding the main plate as well that the fruits and the plate managed to slip off.... It's that moment when you do something strange and the whole room turns around to look at you. Yeah, that kind of moment happened to me and then as if it were not enough, I dropped my fork twice and my knife once.. Goodness gracious... What's more, the warmness of SoCal just isn't cutting it through the day in any way! But today, I made tons of new friends, and people are just nice again!

After school today, Cameron, a friend from back home, gave me a complete school tour and I got to meet one of the nicest janitors and older girls who are currently living in the building next to mine! It's nice to know people who know people so it won't be so alienated all around.

What can I say, I gotta love these Long Beach State moments...

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SEPTEMBER! I Just noticed as of right now.
